Fill or kill (FOK) order

A fill or kill order (FOK order) must either be filled immediately in full, or cancelled. Unlike an AON order it cannot remain on the order book if not immediately filled.

An FOK order gives immediate certainty about an order, with no risk of partial filling. A partially filled order might leave an investor with a small quantity that is not worth the admin overhead of holding or the costs of selling. See AON order for more comment on this.
