Front office jobs are those concerned with the revenue revenue generating functions that originate transactions and providing advice, as opposed to the support functions of the back office and the monitoring and control functions of the middle office.

Front office functions include proprietary trading, broking and investment banking.

Front office jobs are the best paid, and most high profile in an investment bank, and are generally considered far more desirable than middle and back office jobs.
