Mineral Reserves

This is the economically mineable part of the measured and indicated mineral resources. At the time of reporting, extraction should be reasonably likely to be justified. This implies consideration of a range of economic, legal, financial and other factors.

Reserves are further divided into:

  • proved reserves
  • probable reserves

Probable reserves are known with a lower degree of confidence than proved reserves.

Similar categories of proven and probable are used to classify oil reserves.
