Possible oil reserves

Possible oil reserves are, as the name implies, oil reserves that have a significant probability of being commercially exploitable, but which can not be said to be probable.

In the UK the DTI defines these as those oil reserves with a less than 50% chance of being technically and commercially producible.

As with proven and probable reserves the exact definition varies.
